Xenobots-the natural evolution of "Sawbonites"

In Alien Roadkill, JB Tucker is infected with alien tech. Molecular sized robots that have been created to administer medical aid to their hosts...  A necessary precaution as their Alien originators go exploring in places far beyond the reach of medical assistance. While this is a purely fictional concept, it's not as far-fetched as it might seem.  According to the NY Times, Xenobots, single cell virtual creatures crafted in the lab from organic sources, can be engineered to perform specific tasks. If this type of experimentation continues, we might be only decades away from real Sawbonites:  Medical nano-bots that can be called upon to do surgeries, combat disease, and perform other medical tasks—all autonomously! These Xenobots might be able to reconstruct damaged DNA or, as JB's Sawbonites did, use a person's DNA as a map to perform reconstructive medical procedures. New Djinn and Tonnick Novel out today in the Kindle store - The VINDICTIVE VINES Very pleased to announce the release of my new novel today.  Mark Tonnick and Delinda Djinn hunt a killer in Napa Valley, California with a taste for wine and homicide! Paperback should also be available after Thanksgiving day.  Enjoy! z

Very excited!

Excited to be close to completion on my latest addition to the Djinn and Tonnick Mystery Series.  Haven't decided on a title yet...  But, as always, there's plenty of mayhem, murder, and supernatural overtones. Set in Napa Valley, California there's plenty of wine too! The history of Napa is historically rich in both the production of wines, and like much of Northern California in the late 1800's, blemished by the wildly racist exploitation of immigrant labor. All of this will be baked into the cake, along with a dash of ancient Greek mythology and a pinch of modern social media.  A recipe that will truly test the meddle of our favorite detective while he seeks to address his precarious relationship with Delinda Djinn. On a completely unrelated note, I'd like to tell you about my recent experience with a consumer electronics company, Nakamichi.  After spending years as an audio professional, I'm fairly jaded when it comes to any kind of consumer gear...
Happy March!  Glad to announce that the 2nd installment in the "Djinn and Tonnick" series is out today.  The title is: "The Twisted Tomahawk" and it's available in both e-book and paperback.  Much of the historical background is based on actual facts and events, although I've taken liberties (hey, it is a fictional novel, after all!) in crafting fast-moving and engrossing mystery.  Hope you enjoy.  The next project I'm working on is called: "Zombiesaurs:Emergence," which I look forward to completing in the next month or so. Glad to announce book 6, Confrontation, in the Alien Roadkill series went live today!  It will conclude the "first season" of ARK, and hopefully there will be a season 2, depending on the feedback I get from you, my loyal readers.  I'll also be starting a mailing list (doesn't every author have one?) that will offer exclusive content to each subscriber.  I'm hoping to have that ready by December along with a white paper on the "History of the Hars." Beautiful Kodiak Alaska-Netflix Interview

Writing as I sit looking out the window at beautiful Kodiak Alaska.  Visiting my son and family on the Coast Guard Base which is surrounded by stunning views and expanses of deep, blue ocean.  For the next ten days I'll be taking a break from all the instructional and new business pitch videos Eric and I have been cranking out for our clients. Having been newly released by my confidentiality agreement with Netflix, I can now discuss my series of interviews with "The Toys that Made Us" show they're currently producing.  I was privileged enough to have written the commercials that launched both the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" in the eighties-I was 12 ;-) and the Power Rangers, both for Playmates Toys.  I was very involved with TMNT advertising, writing most of the spots until '95, including creating the phrase "Heroes in a Halfshell." In our interview with the Netflix folks both my business partner, Eric Hanson - who was the art director f...
Starting book 6 next week (Alien Roadkill-Confrontation).  In this continuation of the Roadkill Saga, JB searches for the tractor-trailer full of the mind control medallions before the aliens can deploy them.  He will also find some new allies to help him in the struggle to prevent Har-Kankar from turning the Sun into a singularity.  The story will become darker as the menace takes on a different aspect as there are forces at work that even the Hars don't suspect. Hopefully, I'll be able to get this one out in a month or so–I've got several "instructional" videos to create for a prominent toy manufacturer first, but barring any other unforeseen circumstances book 6 should be "on the shelf" in August. ttfn, z
